Voigtlander discontinues APO-Lanthar 90mm f/3.5 SL II lens 0

Last February, Cosina announced two new Voigtlander lenses–the 75mm f1.8 Heliar Classic and 28mm f2.8 Color Skopar pancake lenses–at the CP+ imaging show held in Yokohama, Japan.

This month, Cosina Japan listed the Voigtländer APO-Lanthar 90mm f/3.5 SL II lens as a discontinued product.

The 90mm lens – which was designed for portrait and macro photography – is still very new, as it was released just two years ago.

According to Photorumors, the lens might not have performed very well in terms of sales, hence the discontinuation.

With the arrival of the Nikon D800 and Canon 5D Mark III, a new Voigtlander lens might pop up at the upcoming Photokina event.
