In addition to the previously announced 400mm f/8 mirror lens, Tokina unveiled the new 300mm f/6.3 mirror lens for Micro Four Thirds system.

The ultra-compact lens features a catadioptric design with a 55mm filter diameter and weighs less that 300g.

Here are some of the major features of the Tokina 300mm f/6.3 mirror lens:

  • Focal length: 300mm (equivalent to version 35mm: equivalent to 600mm)
  • Length lens: 66mm
  • Maximum diameter: 66mm
  • Diameter filter: 55mm
  • Weight: Less than 300g
  • Manual focus
  • Remarks: Equipped with distance encoder, can communicate with the body. (Exif, lens information, etc.)
  • Minimum focusing distance 0.8m. Macro of 1:2 can be taken.

It seems that Tokina is on a lens spree. Aside from the 300mm f/6.3 and 400mm f/8 mirror lenses, they also released the new 11-16mm f2.8 AT-X 116 PRO DX II and the AT-X 70-200mm f/4 PRO IF FX lenses.

We should expect these lenses to be showcase at the upcoming 2012 CP+ show in Japan.
