Which is the best audio recorder for my shooting style and budget?

The guys at Fstoppers have just answered that. Thanks to them, we now have an idea of which portable audio recorder is right for our DSLRs, and our pockets.

The Tascam DR-100 MK II came up on top of the overall test, but the Olympus LS-10 is considered as the most preferable choice because of its smaller form factor. (Hit the source link below to view the detailed test results.)

“From an audio perspective, the Tascam DR-100 MK II might have won overall but the biggest factors in choosing one of these units is probably going to be the form factors, size, and overall ease of use. Even knowing the Tascam records the cleanest audio, I still would prefer the smaller Olympus LS-10 because it’s small enough to fit in my pants pocket and not going to take up valuable space in my camera bag.”

Even an iPhone is good enough to record high quality audio. In summary, your choice of the best portable audio device depends on your needs and budget. If you own any of the devices above or have other audio devices that you think is the best, please let us know in the comments section.
