Sony is one of the proud sponsors behind this year’s World Photography Awards, an annual competition that aims to discover talent across the various fields of photography. The Sony World Photography Awards 2012 are now closed for entries, however, so if you want to enter, you might want to set your most impressive shots aside for next year, as the organization will start accepting entries for the 2013 awards on June 1, 2012.
Anyway, as part of the celebrations to commemorate this year’s awards, Sony UK will be hosting a free photography seminar on April 18th at The Wellcome Collection, 183 Euston Road, London, NW1 2BE from 7:30 to 9:30 PM.
Photo by David Kretschmer, second place winner in the Portaiture category in the 2011 World Photography Awards.
The seminar will feature a panel of experts that includes Fiona Shields, the Guardian Picture Editor; Elizabeth Roberts, the Editor of Black and White Photography; and Celia Henderson, a Sony advocate photographer.
Aside from the opportunity to learn some valuable insights from these experts during the seminar, Sony is also giving twenty lucky photographers the chance to have their photo displayed at the Sony World Photography Awards 2012 winner’s exhibition at Somerset House.
If you’re interested, just take a photo themed around your interpretation of the theme “Now,” and send it off to Sony UK via email.
