Sony releases new firmware to NEX cameras for compatibility with LA-EA2 lens adapter 0

Good news to all αNEX E-mount camera owners! Sony recently released firmware update 2.0v for Lens/Adapter. If you bought an E-mount camera prior to Oct. 2011, this firmware will enable your shooter to be compatible with the new LA-EA2 translucent mirror Lens Mount Adapter.

The firmware is applicable to models NEX-5, NEX-C3, NEX-FS100U, and even for camcorder NEX-VG10.

Why you need to download this firmware? Well, it will give your NEX camera a much faster Phase Detect AF functionality when using the LA-EA2.

Before the update, the LA-EA2 was only compatible with NEX-5N , NEX-7 and NEX-VG20 models.
