SmugMug Launches New Photo Extras to Help You Sell More on Bay Photo 0

Thanks to the advent of photo-sharing sites, both professional and amateur photographers have found it easier to showcase their portfolios, share their work, and sell their prints.

One example of such site is SmugMug. It’s a premium site that boasts more than just a site to share photos on, and they back it up by showcasing a pretty sweet list of features: easy sharing options such as Facebook and Twitter publishing, protection such as watermarking and unlimited backups, and–perhaps my most favorite part about the site–the buy and sell feature, which lets users buy prints straight from your portfolio in several quick clicks.

One thing that the site’s users have been clamoring for over the years was more options for the customers when they choose to buy prints.

And to show that they’re all for their users and for moving forward, SmugMug has announced that they are rolling out Photo Extras for pro users. Photo Extras will provide à la carte upgrades when they check out using Bay Photo.

These new options include frames, mats, contemporary mounting options, and paper surface textures to let customers customize their prints and get them in the format that they want. Here’s the complete list of new options:

  • Mats. 3 picks: 1.5″ wide mats in White, Off-White and Black.
  • Frames. 14 types: Flat wood, box wood or aluminum in a variety of colors. All served with clear, shatterproof acrylic.
  • Mounting. 7 selections: 2mm Styrene, Bevel mount, Gatorfoam and 3/4″ Standouts.
  • Finishes. 5 alternatives: Pebble, Canvas and Linen surface textures, Satin Laminate and scratch-resistent Protective Coating.
