After numerous delays, it was reported that the DSLRs finally began shipping out sometime last week. Videos of unboxings have been uploaded, sample shots have been posted, and tests have been run by those who were among the first to pre-order the camera.
If you’re still on the fence about purchasing either of these shooters, then maybe this bit of news will make you reconsider (and make up your mind, fast!): Nikon UK increased the price of the D4 by £500 and the D800 by £200, effective immediately. The D4 is now priced at £5289.00 on Amazon and Jessops, while the D800 is now listed for £2,599.
UK users might want to get their D4 from retailer DigitalRev, who is currently offering it for £4,689.00 with free shipping.
There’s also been some talk that another European country (reportedly Norway) might see an increase in the prices of the Nikon shooters as well. There’s no word yet if a similar price increase is also planned for the US market, but I’d rather play it safe and just buy it now instead of waiting it out.[Nikon Rumors 1, 2]
