If there’s a smart phone, then there’s a smart camera, right? Yes. Polaroid recently unveiled at CES 2012 its latest shooter: the Polaroid SC1630 Smart Camera. The camera is not your usual point-and-shoot as it is powered by Android. Yes, you read it right. The same mobile OS that powers most of the smartphones in the market today.
Aside from its mobile phone form factor, the Polaroid SC1630 features a 16MP CCD sensor with 3x optical zoom and a 3.2-inch touch screen display. It also has Wi-Fi capabilities, face and smile detection, geo-tagging, built-in photo editor, one button to upload photos to social networks, and a micro SD card of 32GB.
The price of the Polaroid SC1630, which is going to be available within this year, is yet to be announced.
