Pentax to release new full frame DSLR camera – Rumor Mill 0

It looks like Pentax is slowly getting back into the game after the company was acquired by Ricoh last year. Rumors has it that Pentax is going to announce a new full-frame DSLR somewhere between May and September.

Specs and other info about the new DSLR camera are not yet available as of the moment. Although, Ricoh UK marketing director Chas Maloney hinted that they are “preparing a new product that will plug a gap in the market, which will be unveiled in 2012.”

For the meantime, let’s get ourselves ready for the February announcement of the rumored Pentax mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera: the K-01 APS-C.

The new mirrorless camera is said to feature a 3.0-inch LCD monitor, DA 40mm f/2.8XS lens, K-mount, optical viewfinder, full HD video, and a built-in pop-up flash.

Pentax is expected to unveil the K-01 APS-C on Feb. 9, 2012 at the CP+ Camera & Photo Imaging Show 2012 in Japan.
