Last May, Pentax was rumored to announce a new camera capable of taking 360 degree shots. It looks like that rumor was right on target. At the Photokina 2012 event in Cologne, a prototype model of the camera is currently shown at their booth.
The device features a double circular chamber with cameras on both sides, designed to take 180 degrees of spherical images on a single shot. In my opinion, the design of the camera is way cooler compared to Trekker, Google’s Streetview Camera, which is also a camera designed to take 360 degree photos.
Complete technical details of the camera is very scarce at the moment. Although, Pentax representatives have stated that it’s not only going to be another concept product because the company hopes to release it in the future.
