While Apple hasn’t been in the dedicated camera market since the days of the QuickTake it’s becoming quite hard for photography enthusiasts to ignore them. Of course, given the fact that the company has an expansive line up of photography focused software it’s been hard to ignore them for quite some time but we’ll save that for another story.
Ever since the release of the iPhone back in 2007 Apple has built cameras into many of their mobile products with each successive generation seeing an improvement. Recent generations of the iPod Touch have also seen a built-in camera but when it comes to the iPod Nano we haven’t seen a camera since Apple switched to the latest, small, touchscreen touting form factor. But, as rumors have suggested in the past, that may be coming to an end.
Just recently, pictures have leaked of what is reportedly a 7th generation iPod Nano complete with rear facing camera. Unfortunately, with Apple more so than other tech companies, it’s virtually impossible to confirm or deny this rumor. However, if Apple does manage to pull this off with a high quality camera it would make the iPod Nano one of the most portable cameras on the market.
