New Rugged Olympus TG-1 Packs An F2.0 Aperture Lens 0
When it comes to rugged cameras, Olympus is one of the top brands. And to keep that reputation intact, Olympus has just released their newest “Tough” camera: the TG-1.
Olympus may have just set a new standard in rugged cameras as the TG-1 is not only waterproof, shockproof, freezeproof, and crushproof, it also sports a lens with an F2.0 aperture — which means both sharper images and improved low light performance.
But wait, there’s more! The TG-1 also features the same image processor powering the new OM-D camera; and a conversion ring mechanism for filters, telephoto and fisheye shots.
Here are the Olympus TG-1 specs:
- 12MP
- F2.0 aperture
- 4X optical zoom
- GPS
- Full HD video recording
- 60 fps recording mode
- 10 fps burst mode
- Waterproof to 40 feet
- Shockproof to 6.6 feet
- Freezeproof to 14 degrees Fahrenheit
- Crushproof to 220 pounds

The Olympus TG-1 has a suggested retail price of around $400 when it becomes available in the middle of July.
I just hope it’s also s**t proof like the Pentax WG-2.
