Manfrotto has just announced the launch of its Sympla series of video rigs meant for use with HDSLRs and video camcorders. The video rigs are relatively easy to use; in fact, Manfrotto claims that cameras compatible with the Sympla can be set up and adjusted onto it in a matter of seconds.
The Sympla series provides videographers with the ability to quickly react to changing conditions and shoot from a wide variety of angles. The series includes a range of individual components to build your own custom rigs, as well as three main ready-to-go kits: the Flexible Matte Box system, the Long Lens Support system, and the Shoulder Support system.
Manfrotto’s press release states:
The rigs feature self-supporting clamps that stay in place even before they are locked – straight from the world of heavy-duty stage lighting – flexible, easy-locking ball-joint hand grips inspired by Manfrotto’s photographic ball heads and sliding plates with quick release and secondary safety buttons first featured on Manfrotto’s professional video heads.
The Sympla rigs already have a Red Dot Design Award under their belt. The entire Manfrotto Sympla product line-up will be available later in May.
