Syrp, a New Zealand-based company that builds film equipment, has started a Kickstarter project for a product they’ve dubbed the Genie. This isn’t the kind you find trapped in a magic lamp, however, instead it’s a portable time lapse device.

The Genie is a “simple, affordable and extremely easy to use device” for shooting time lapse videos — an all-in-one pice of photo equipment that merges image-capture with motion-control.

If you’re into time lapse photography, you can grab the Genie for a minimum pledge of $590. As of this writing, the project is already more than halfway of their desired $150,000 funding.
