Leica V-Lux 3 Superzoom DSLR Gets Announced 0

When it comes to truly iconic camera brands Leica is definitely up there with the best of them. Having been founded in 1913, Leica is still going hard nearly 100 years later. Of course, no longer are they producing cameras that require you to develop your own film. Instead, they’ve kept up with the times transitioning most, if not all, of their efforts towards digital cameras.

One such example that has come out of the company recently is the V-Lux 3 DSLR. This camera comes complete with an image stabilized F/2.8-5.2 3.5 – 108mm lens capable of 24x zoom – hence the superzoom moniker. While the camera does have a 12.1 megapixel CMOS sensor for great still imagery Leica was also nice enough to throw in the ability to record full 1080p HD video complete with stereo sound.

On the software front Leica is bundling the V-Lux 3 with both Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements giving future owners what they need to make sure their photograph is up to par.

As of now, there’s yet to be word on what exactly the V-Lux 3’s price tag will look like but we have been assured it will be hitting store shelves at some point in January of next year.
