Leica’s M10 was earlier rumored to be unveiled at this year’s Photokina, which will be held in Cologne, Germany September 18 to 23, 2012. That event is still six months away, which is an extremely long way off.
However, the manufacturer has just sent off invitations to an event that will be held on May 10th in Berlin, fueling rumors that this could be the official Leica M10 release date. Some sources are saying that Leica is very particular when choosing their release dates, as the M9 was announced on 09/09/09. The M10 would’ve had an ideal release date with 10/10/10, but they probably decided that May 10th would have to do.
On a related note, Leica has also just announced that some of its cameras will be shipping out with the most updated version of Adobe’s Lightroom 4, which was just released last week. These shooters include: Leica S2, Leica S2-P, Leica M9, Leica M9-P, Leica X1 and Leica D-LUX 5.
