Leica users, it’s that time of the month again. Yes folks, time to power up that beauty of yours, connect it to the Internet and hit the update button.
The photography giant just released the firmware update 2.0 for Leica D-Lux 5 and as expected it brings on board a number of improvements and also fixes some of the pesky bugs that were troubling some of the D-Lux 5 users.
So what all does the update version 2.0 has to offer? Well, for starters, one will see a considerable improvement in AF speed in the wide-angle range, some notable fine adjustments in manual focusing mode and white-balance precision in low light conditions. The update also reduces noise at ISO 1600 and ISO 3200 and has a new feature called ‘Active mode’, which reduces blur in movie recording when in motion.
Other changes include; a new ‘Miniature effect’ in the ‘My Colour Mode’ , improved AF/AE Lock with shutter button half depressed and the long exposure time being increased in manual mode from 60 to 250 seconds.
