Graduated ND Filter Built-In on Future Panasonic Cameras? 0
Panasonic just submitted a patent application for a sensor which can adjust the exposure time uniquely for each row of pixels on a sensor. This doesn’t sound like a huge deal at first, but it could seriously increase the perceived dynamic range of an image. If you are taking an image of a landscape, for example, the sky is always brighter than the land. To compensate people often use a graduated ND filter. If Panasonic can get this tech working in a camera, they’ll essentially have a built-in graduated ND filter right on the sensor itself.
