With CES just around the corner enthusiasts across the board are on the look out for the latest cameras and other accessories that will be announced at the show. Already we’ve told you that the Nikon D4 DSLR will officially show its face at CES 2012 and that Fujifilm will be coming forth with a full 19 camera line up. We also told you about Fujifilm’s X-Pro1 which had its entire spec sheet leaked prior to an official announcement. However, during the leak we were not notified when exactly we would be hearing these specs officially confirmed leaving their authenticity up in the air.
Luckily, yet another leak has surfaced today that tells us when the Fujifilm X-Pro 1 will officially be announced. According to recent reports, DPReview.com recently went live with a placeholder for the X-Pro 1 that showed an announcement date of January 9th. As of this writing the placeholder has seen been pulled but a cached version of the page confirms this which can be viewed here.
Now, while we don’t have official confirmation that this will be the announcement date the fact that they quickly pulled the placeholder does put some weight behind this rumor. Furthermore, CES 2012 is currently set to run from January 10 – 13 and a pre-show announcement from Fuji is not a very far fetched concept.
As always, before you get too excited, stay tuned as we attempt to dig up more on this.
