Fuji recently announced its new FinePix XP170, a rugged-looking digital camera that is designed to endure tough conditions. It is water resistant, shock-proof, dust-proof and freeze-proof up to a certain degree, making it a great camera if you love the outdoors.
Other features include a 14MP CMOS sensor and full HD video recording. The Finepix XP170 also makes use of Fujifilm’s new wireless technology that allows wireless image transfer to iOS and Android devices. Unfortunately, you cannot transfer videos through the wireless feature, but you can purchase an optional HD video kit that allows you to watch recorded footage on a HDTV.
The wireless image transfer feature isn’t as efficient as some of the other built in Wi-Fi systems other cameras use – like the Samsung WB150F. However, it is still a pretty useful system that allows you to upload images on the go. Overall, the XP170 packs some decent features, but it remains to be seen whether its wireless image transfer system can compete with other built-in Wi-Fi cameras.
The Fujifilm FinePix XP170 will be released in June and is set to retail at $280.00. If you would like more information on the XP170, head over to the Fujifilm website.
