The Nikon F is Nikon’s first SLR camera that was released to the public in 1959. And recently, a rare, black Nikon F, which is reportedly one of only 100 pre-production units, is up for grabs in London for £250,000 or around $373,000 USD.
The vintage camera carries the serial number 6400077 and features a rare cloth shutter, which was replaced later by Nikon with titanium on commercial units.
“It is an unbelievable find and, to the best of our knowledge, the earliest black body to have ever surfaced on the international market,” said Gray Levett, founder of Grays of Westminster, which is the Nikon dealer selling the said camera.
If you want this in your collection, you can get the Nikon F by getting in touch with Grays of Westminster at 020-7828-4925. By the way, the item’s price does not include a lens yet.
