DIY Headshot Lighting 0
Inspired by Peter Hurley‘s lighting style and equipment, Tristan Penner – a photographer from the ‘peg — has a great portable, money-saving, DIY version of the Kino Flo Lights Hurley uses. The video doesn’t give a lot of DIY instruction, but you can see how he creates his lights throughout and the quality of light they produce speaks for itself.
The set up is a combination of three fluorescent light fixtures strapped to plywood panels mounted on a backdrop support — which he presumably already had. A final light, which isn’t mentioned in the video (but you can see if you watch closely), is a small strobe placed behind the model that points towards the backdrop.
