As a photographer, you can easily have many thousands of dollars worth of gear stowed in your camera bag. Sure, you have insurance, but loosing your gear is never desirable. You’ll be surprised to know that a $2 DIY alarm kit is enough to discourage any thief from stealing your camera and other camera accessories.
The guys from KipKay.com created a DIY video where they’ll show you how to create and arm your camera bag with a motion-activated alarm system. All you need is an impact device, originally designed to be used on home windows against burglars. With some additional tweaking, you can use it on your camera bag or the camera itself. When someone touches your stuff, the alarm system creates a high-pitched sound.
