D800/D800E and D4 Dealer Cost Makes Nikon Discounts Unlikely 0

Whenever a new camera comes out, we mere non-dealer mortals always wonder if there are going to be any good deals going on when it hits the shelves.

Unfortunately for those of you waiting for Nikon’s new offerings – namely the D4, D800 and D800E – that doesn’t look like it’s going to happen now that we know what dealers will be paying for them.

According to the dealer price list that Nikon Rumors secured, it looks like Nikon will be giving dealers right around $300 of markup to work with between the MSRP and the price they will be getting them for.

Of course some dealers will sacrifice some of that profit hoping to earn your business, but most of them will likely go the typical route and package the cameras with accessories they can take more of a hit on without losing so much of their margin.

Whatever the case may be, we’re all still excited to see the three new cameras in action this March – full retail price be damned.
