Drone copters are taking aerial videography to the next level — literally. A great example is Omstudios’ ninja video which was shot using a RED Epic camera attached to their aerial “Omcopter” rig.
But Vienna-based company Schiebel, in collaboration with Brain Farm and SnapRoll, took the concept to a whole new level by installing a huge and heavy Cineflex camera on a massive drone copter called the Schiebel CAMCOPTER S-100.
Schiebel’s CAMCOPTER S-100 UAS integrated with Cineflex is the ultimate solution for gyro-stabilized aerial cinematography. The Cineflex is a coordinated multi-axis gimbal control system that provides layered isolation, steering, and fine correctional movements to stabilize a wide selection of precision optics to a sub-pixel level.
The Schiebel drone copter is certainly not cheap as compared to the smaller quadcopters, but it’s quite economical and practical as compared to using manned helicopters and planes when taking aerial photos and videos using big cameras like the Cineflex.
