Rumors have emerged that Canon is planning to announce two new cameras in June. One of the cameras is rumored to be an EOS (650D) while the other is expected to be a mirrorless offering. This is very exciting news as Canon is yet to make an entry into the mirrorless camera market.
These are the rumored specifications for Canon’s mirrorless cameras (rumors are pointing towards two cameras):
- G1 X sensor size
- APS-C a possibility in one camera
- 14 & 24 megapixels
- EF compatibility, but not EF mount
- EVF on one camera
- 3-5 lenses announced at launch
It certainly will be interesting to see what approach Canon takes in its quest to make a mirrorless camera debut. The EOS 650D (T4i) will likely be a replacement for the T3i, however, not much is known about it at this stage, but Canon is expected to release more information on it in coming weeks.
