Canon to announce new Rebel T4i next month; EOS-1D X delayed until April or May 0

Aside from the highly-anticipated announcement of the rumored 5D Mark III and 5DX, Canon is also poised to unveil a new Rebel, the T4i.

The Rebel T4i is expected to be announced on or around March 2, 2012. The camera’s specs are not yet known, but reports say that it will come with a new EF-S 18-135 lens, which will be equipped with a silent autofocus motor.

Invites are already out for a press event on March 2nd; and if it’s not for the Rebel T4i, then we’ll expect it to be the new 5D camera–if it hasn’t already been announced on February 27/28┬áthat is.

In related news, the Canon EOS-1D X is going to be delayed until April or May of this year.

One of the speculated reasons for its delay includes software-related problems.
