Last April, we featured the first Blackmagic Cinema Camera here in TogTech. Five months later, Blackmagic yet announced another camera in their line: the Blackmagic Cinema Camera MFT. This time, the company outfitted their new model with passive Micro Four Thirds mount.
The device is similar to the first model, except it uses manual lenses. Aside from supporting a wide range of MFT mount lenses, it can also adapt with other lens mounts using third-party adapters. It features a 2.5K sensor, 13 stops of dynamic range, built-in SSD recorder, capacitive touchscreen, 3GB per second SDI output, refrigerated sensor for low noise, standard jack audio connections, and high speed Thunderbolt connection.
To differentiate the two cameras, Blackmagic added an EF designation for the first model. Both cameras have a price tag of around $3,000. The MFT model is going to ship this coming December.
