Earlier this week, it was revealed that the photo-sharing website of choice for many photographers, Flickr, would be getting a major makeover in the coming weeks and months. However, one of its competitors, 500px, has actually beat them to it by launching a redesign of their own–and implementing it first.
500px is a widely-used photo community site that lets photographers discover, share, buy, and sell inspiring photographs.
The site’s new main page, which is now populated with images in different sizes and orientations, shows a slight resemblance to the social network Pinterest’s own homepage. 500px has also tweaked individual user pages so that blog posts are featured more prominently. A new “Market” section has also been added to the site, where users can purchase digital image downloads or order prints.
